FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE MUSIC – We are INCREDIBLY excited to welcome Chris Matthews Music to our Courtyard tonight. He’s been here before and he is well worth cancelling anything else that you have on and hot footing it to the hotel!
Well known for his epic 3-4 hour sets, a gargantuan stage presence, and a dexterity on the fretboard that leaves audiences shaking their heads in wonder, as well as a bucketload of energy as a solo artist that puts a lot of bands to shame, Matthews is one heck of a performer. And whether it be on 6 or 12 string acoustic guitars, mandolin, banjo, or lap steel, rest assured – you probably haven’t seen someone play quite as uniquely or as boisterous as he can.
Having supported acts such as Golden Guitar winners Luke O’Shea and Troy Cassar-Daley, Australian luminaries like the Hoodoo Gurus, Jimmy Barnes, John Farnham, to roots and folk greats like Jeff Lang and John Butler, Chris can match it with the best of them and from any genre of music. And whether it be playing one of his own fine compositions, or taking songs from other artists, one thing is for sure – he does them all in fine fashion and in his own way, and has found something that has become a rarity these days – his own voice.
