Live music – Angus Montaigne

We’re excited to welcome Angus Montaigne back to the Delatite Hotel again.     Angus is an emotive story-teller based in Fitzroy, Melbourne. Hailing from the blustery northern winds of Scotland, Angus has been performing live for eighteen years – with the last ten spent largely in the Victorian high country. He largely performs in a gentle Folk-Americana style, but has a healthy habit of ramping up the noise and energy of a room as the night draws in. Audiences can expect shades of Springsteen, Paul Kelly, The Beatles and a variety of other classic sounds over the course of an evening of covers (with originals thrown in from time to time) from what might be considered the golden years; with his own songwriting taking influence from the likes of Phoebe Bridgers, Bright Eyes and Jason Isbell.   Angus has lived a storied life, connecting through song in a rough-and-ready manner, and takes pride in making stops in as many regional towns as he can any time he hits the road. His music and shows have taken him across Scotland and halfway up the East Coast of Australia, with Victoria now his true and long-standing home. JC & The Tree

Live music Thursday – yes please! We can’t wait to welcome JC & The Tree to the Delatite Hotel.   Inspired by their hometown of Sunshine Coast, this indie-folk duo writes melodies about all things from the mountains to the sea and life between. The heartfelt violin playing from JC soars as the warm rich tones of the Tree set a benchmark that transcends the ordinary music lovers ear. Their voices blend beautifully in harmony as they play their range of original indie/folk tunes. Pushing boundaries they take their audiences on a journey through genres including gypsy/spanish violin pieces, folk/metal rock songs, funky wah-wah violin grooves and soulful piano ballads.   Thurs 14th March 7pm FREE!
